On Tangles, you can block to stop contact immediately, and report to alert our Safety team to review behavior that may violate our Community Guidelines.
Tip: You can block without reporting. If you believe there’s abuse, scams, impersonation, threats, or anything unsafe, please report as well so we can take action.
When to block
- They make you uncomfortable or won’t take “no” for an answer.
- They keep messaging after you asked them to stop.
- You simply no longer want any contact.
When to report
- Scams, requests for money, crypto or gift cards.
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or blackmail.
- Fake identity, stolen photos, impersonation.
- Underage users or sexual exploitation content.
How to block a user
From their profile
- Open the person’s profile.
- Tap the More menu (⋯) in the corner.
- Select Block and confirm.
From a chat
- Open the conversation.
- Tap the More menu (⋯).
- Select Block and confirm.
What happens: You won’t see each other in search, feeds, or messages. Existing chats are hidden and they can’t message you again.
How to report a user
From their profile or chat
- Tap the More menu (⋯) on their profile or in the chat.
- Choose Report.
- Select a reason (e.g., Scam/Fraud, Harassment, Fake Profile, Threats).
- (Optional) Add details or screenshots for context.
- Submit. You can also choose to Block during reporting.
Privacy: Reports are confidential. The other person won’t know who reported them.
Evidence that helps our review
- Screenshots of messages, profile, or links they sent.
- Dates/times and what was said or requested (e.g., money, codes).
- Why you believe the profile is fake or violating policies.
Please don’t include your sensitive personal data in the report.
What we do after a report
- We review the account, chat history, media, and device/network signals.
- We remove violating content and may limit or ban accounts.
- Serious or repeated violations lead to permanent device/network bans.
Unblocking someone
Go to Settings → Safety → Blocked Users to review your list. You can unblock someone there. Unblocking does not restore past messages or matches.
Stay safe
- Keep chats in-app until trust is established.
- Never share verification codes, banking details, or passwords.
- Decline requests for money, crypto, or gift cards—then report.
Immediate danger? Contact local authorities first. You can still file a report with us afterward.
