How do I create an account?

Getting started with Tangles takes just a minute. You can create an account from multiple places across the site—look for the Create account button on the Main, Home, About, or Contact pages.

Ways to create your account

1) Email & Password

1. Click Create account (from Main/Home/About/Contact).
2. Enter your email and choose a username and password.
3. Check your inbox and click the verification link we send you.
4. After verifying, you’ll land on a page to create, edit, and enter details for your profile.

2) Phone (SMS code)

1. Click More Ways to Create an Account.
2. Select Create Account with Phone.
3. Enter your mobile number (include country code, e.g., +15551234567).
4. We’ll text you a 6-digit code. Enter the code to continue.
5. Next, create your account by entering a username, email, and password.
6. We’ll send a verification link to your email.
7. Click the verification link to go to the Create/Edit/Profile page and start building your Tangles profile.

What happens after I verify?

• You’ll be guided to complete your profile (photos, bio, interests).
• You can adjust privacy, notifications, and visibility anytime in those Settings on the profile page.
• To start matching, browse and like profiles—when both people like each other, it’s a match.

Best practices for a smooth signup

• Use a strong password (12+ characters, unique to Tangles).
• Add a phone number in Settings for easier logins and account recovery.
• Check spam/junk if you don’t see the verification email within a couple of minutes.

Troubleshooting

• No verification email? Check spam, search “Tangles”, or click Resend in the app.
• Phone code didn’t arrive? Confirm the number has the correct country code and try Resend. On Twilio trial setups, only verified numbers receive SMS.
• Username already taken? Pick a different one; usernames are unique.
